Medical Assistant Now Program

What is a Medical Assistant?

Medical Assistants provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. Duties include scheduling and receiving patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, liaising between physicians and other healthcare professionals, taking patient histories and vital signs, collecting and processing specimens and assisting the licensed healthcare provider with examinations.

What is this program about?

The program will include training and preparation to become certified as a Medical Assistant (CCMA). Participants will complete a comprehensive 6-month program that includes, instructor-led and online classes, lab practicum and supervised clinical activities. Graduates will also test for CET, CPT, BLS & CPR certifications.

  • CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
  • CET – Certified EKG technician
  • CPT – Certified Phlebotomy Technician
  • BLS – Basic Life Support
  • CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Provide a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
