Charles McCathran, MD

Dr. C. Eric McCathran, a Louisiana native, earned his Medical Doctorate from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport following his graduation from Louisiana State University- Shreveport. Once Dr. McCathran finished his residency at LSUHSC as chief resident, he moved to Marshall and started his private practice. He has practiced in Texas, South Alabama and returned home to LSU Health Sciences Center in 2016 as Professor of Clinical ObGyn, Vice Chairman and Director, Section of Uro-Gynecology in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. McCathran has received several awards like ACOG Resident Award, USA Ob/Gyn Most Outstanding Faculty Award and APGO Surgical Scholars Course in Hysteroscopy. He has had several presentations and a publication in Rev Obstet Gynecol. He is board certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. McCathran’s main interest in ObGyn is Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. When he is not practicing medicine you will find him on the golf course, watching LSU football, or on the lake spending time with his wife and two sons.
