Dr. Gonzalez-Toledo earned his medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in 1964 and completed his Doctorate at the University of Buenos Aires (Neuroimaging in Psychiatry). He completed his Residency in Neurosurgery/Neuroradiology in Guillermo Rawson County Hospital. He trained in Radiology at Hospital Francés, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Visiting fellowship in computed tomography in St. Luke Hospital, Jacksonville, FL.
Dr. Gonzalez-Toledo is a Neuroradiologist. He introduced short life radioisotopes in Argentina in 1971, the first body CT in 1977, the first magnetic resonance unit in 1986, and started telemedicine / teleradiology in 1992. He founded the Residence in Diagnostic imaging in Argentina in 1978 and directed the Radiology Residency Program at the School of Medicine, University of Buenos Aires. He was appointed Professor of Radiology, Neurology and Anesthesiology. He served in the Credentialing, Cancer, Radiation Safety, Promotions and Tenure Committees, and the CME Committee. He served as Director of Neuroradiology from 2002 to 2018, and is currently Director of Forensic Radiology and Research in the Department of Radiology. He also is a member of the Stroke and Epilepsy Committees, and Director of 3rd and 4th year Clerkships at LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine.
He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Neuroimaging, Sociedad Argentina de Radiología, International Society of Neuroimaging in Psychiatry, International Society of Forensic Radiology. Dr. Gonzalez-Toledo is author of 2 books, 34 book chapters, 172 papers in peer reviewed journals, and serves as a member of the Editorial Board for Neurological Research and The Neuroradiology Journal, reviewer of Revista Argentina de Radiología, Revista de la Asociacion Argentina de Biología y Medicina Nuclear, Neuroradiology, Ochsner Journal, and reviewer ad hoc of AJNR.
He has lived in Shreveport for 16 years with his wife Adriana. They have four children.
