A native of New Orleans, Dr. Ugorji Okorie obtained her BS in Biology at Loyola University-Chicago, afterwards completing her Doctor of Medicine degree at Ross University School of Medicine with Magna Cum Laude distinction. She then returned home to Louisiana, completing her Internal Medicine Residency at LSU Health Shreveport in June 2018 and currently serves as an Attending Physician in the Internal Medicine outpatient clinic at the Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport St. Vincent primary care location. Dr. Okorie is also an Assistant Professor/Clinical instructor educating both residents and medical students and utilizing her board certification in Lifestyle Medicine she obtained in October 2019, Dr. Okorie is one of the co-founders of the Culinary Medicine course for the LSUHSC Medical School.Additionally, Dr. Okorie is a distinguished Sleep Medicine fellow, participating in the AIRE Fellowship Program sponsored by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine which she will be completing in June 2021.
In her spare time, Dr. Okorie enjoys cooking, singing, dancing and traveling.
