New Pediatric Urgent Care at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health announces the opening of Ochsner LSU Health – Urgent Care for Kids, specially designed to meet the health care needs of children from newborns to age 18. Conveniently located at the west entrance of St. Mary Medical Center on the corner of Marycrest and Margaret Place, the clinic offers prompt, high-quality evaluation and treatment for common pediatric concerns that do not require emergency department care.

The new urgent care clinic offers comprehensive treatment for a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including:

• Fever

• Cough

• Congestion

• Sore throat

• Ear pain

• Pink eye

• Rashes

• Vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Mild dehydration

• Asthma flare-ups

• Urinary symptoms

The team also treats minor injuries such as:

• Sprains and strains

• Sports injuries

• Cuts, bruises, and burns

• Lacerations

• Simple fractures

To ensure fast and accurate diagnoses, the facility has on-site diagnostic services. Patients have access to digital X-rays and comprehensive lab testing. The clinic offers rapid tests for strep throat, flu, COVID-19 and RSV. Additional on-site services include breathing treatments, splinting, wound care and sports or school physicals.
