Andrew Green, MD

Andrew Green, MD, specializes in gynecologic oncology at Ochsner LSU Health. Dr. Green has returned to Louisiana to continue a long family tradition of medicine in the state. He was raised in Ruston, Louisiana, where his grandfather, father and uncle practiced medicine. He earned his medical doctorate at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - Shreveport. He went on to complete his post graduate training in Cleveland, Ohio, at Case Western Reserve University and The Cleveland Clinic. Over the next 17 years, while in private practice, he helped to found and then lead the first Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence and the first Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery Center of Excellence in Georgia. Both of these programs are nation leading in patient outcomes. He also helped to start a residency in General Surgery. His desire to teach has led him back home to North Louisiana. Here, he will continue to deliver high quality patient care, and to teach the physicians of tomorrow to research and enhance the medical care of the people of Louisiana for years to come.Dr. Green is married to Dr. Kristen Green who holds a PhD in clinical child psychology. They have two adult children. All are excited to be back in Louisiana and closer to family.His practice focuses on malignancies of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vulva, and vagina. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgery and complex benign gynecologic surgery.
