Arie C. Shaw, MD, FACOG, MSCP, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner LSU Health.Dr. Shaw is a proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans and earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, where she was recognized for excellence in gynecological surgery. During her medical training, she also received the University of Rochester’s award for outstanding performance in OB/GYN.Dr. Shaw has a passion for obstetrics and is deeply committed to improving health outcomes for African-American women. She focuses on education and equitable healthcare access in underserved communities and believes trust, respect, and compassion are the pillars of exceptional care.When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Shaw loves traveling to new destinations, indulging in spa days, and spending quality time with her husband, Brian, and their beloved Yorkie, Saint. She also mentors high school girls through her empowering program, Teen Talk. Whether advocating for Black maternal health or inspiring the next generation, Dr. Shaw lives with purpose, passion and a heart for making a difference.
