Montrice S. Hartwell, APRN, FNP

Montrice S. Hartwell is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a proud native of Shreveport, Louisiana, where she remains an active member of the community and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in surrounding neighborhoods. She began her nursing journey at Kilgore College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing, and later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Northwestern State University College of Nursing in Shreveport in 2009. Montrice continued to advance her education and clinical expertise, earning her Master of Science in Nursing in 2022. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is proud to serve on staff at Ochsner LSU Health.With extensive experience in wellness exams and the management of both acute and chronic conditions, Montrice has clinical expertise in hypertension, diabetes, COPD & asthma, well-woman exams & pap smears, preventive health screenings.Her passion for family and strong community ties form the foundation of the relationships she builds with her patients. Montrice is known for her skill in patient education, her focus on empowering patients through self-management strategies, and her collaborative approach with interdisciplinary care teams to promote the best possible outcomes. She is deeply committed to culturally sensitive, holistic care. Outside of her professional role, Montrice is the proud mother of one daughter, Imani, who is the center of her world. She is a devoted member of Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. R. Timothy Jones, and she gives all glory and thanks to God, who is the head of her life.
