Rahul Shah, MD

Dr. Rahul Shah is board-certified in general neurology, vascular neurology and neurocritical care by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). He is the director of the newly established Neurovascular ICU, which is the only dedicated Neurocritical Care Unit in the region. Dr. Shah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, Division of Cerebrovascular Disease and Neurocritical Care, specializing in Neurocritical Care, Vascular Neurology, and Neuroendovascular Surgery. He also serves as the Associate Program Director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship.With advanced subspecialty training, Dr. Shah provides comprehensive care for complex neurological conditions. He manages critical illnesses such as traumatic brain injury, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and status epilepticus, while also offering minimally invasive surgical treatment for acute stroke, aneurysms, carotid stenosis, arteriovenous malformations, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and subdural hematomas. His dual expertise in medical and surgical management allows him to address the full spectrum of patient needs in vascular neurology and neurocritical care. Dr. Shah has written multiple textbook chapters, published innumerable abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals, and presented his research at many national and international conferences.
