Ochsner LSU Health Hosts No-Cost Health Fest for Northwest Louisiana Families

SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health is proud to invite the Shreveport-Bossier community to Health Fest, a no-cost event prioritizing health and well-being for the entire family. Health Fest is open to the public and will be held at Riverview Hall, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ochsner LSU Health is hosting Health Fest to improve healthcare access and promote better health outcomes for communities in Shreveport-Bossier and across North Louisiana.

The one-day celebration of health, wellness and community will include health screenings and education, culinary demonstrations from well-known local chefs, exercise demonstrations from the YMCA, as well as a backpack giveaway while supplies last. Additionally, informational discussions will be taking place throughout the event on important topics such as maternal health and navigating a cancer diagnosis.

A number of family-friendly activities will be available at the event, including the Brain Architecture game set up that shows the effects that trauma and chronic stress can cause on brain development and ways to begin healing.

Health Screenings available:

• Cholesterol
• Glucose
• Blood Pressure
• Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Dental screenings including cleanings, sealant and fluoride
• Mammograms
• Cancer screenings - prostate, colon, cervical, head & neck and more
