SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health is pleased to welcome Andrew Wilkinson, MD, CAQSM, to its growing team of primary care and sports medicine providers. Dr. Wilkinson provides comprehensive family medicine and sports medicine services, helping patients manage chronic conditions, prevent illness and injury and maintain active, healthy lifestyles. 

Dr. Wilkinson sees patients at Ochsner LSU Health - Viking Drive Multispecialty Center in Bossier City. 

Dr. Wilkinson specializes in preventive care and the management of chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes and obesity. He also provides evaluation and treatment for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions and has expertise in diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures.  

In addition to caring for primary care patients, Dr. Wilkinson has extensive experience working with athletes and active individuals. He currently serves as head team physician for LSU Shreveport and has provided medical coverage for numerous collegiate athletic programs and community sporting events throughout the region. 

“I’m excited to join Ochsner LSU Health and continue serving patients across northwest Louisiana,” said Dr. Wilkinson. “My goal is to help patients stay healthy, active and able to do the things they enjoy through personalized, evidence-based care.” 

Dr. Wilkinson earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at LSU Health Shreveport before pursuing additional training through a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at LSU Health Shreveport. 

Dr. Wilkinson is a member of the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
