Patient Relations Advocate

Ensuring Quality Care for You

Each of our doctors, nurses and team members is dedicated to providing the high-quality care you deserve when you visit an Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport facility. If that doesn’t happen, we want to hear about it so we can fix the problem. Our Patient Relations Department and our patient relations advocates are here to answer any questions and address any concerns you might have about the care you’ve received from us.

We’re Here to Listen

Whether you experienced great care or a problem with your care, we encourage you to bring it to your care team or the employees involved if possible. They will work to address your concerns and make changes as needed. If the employees do not resolve your concerns, you should contact the department manager.

We welcome your comments of all types about the care you’ve received from our team. Contact our patient relations team by phone Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time, at 318-626-1830 or by email. If you have a concern or question for either the Academic Medical Center or St. Mary Medical Center after normal business hours, you can reach the hospital administrator on call by calling the hospital switchboard at 318-626-0000. For after-hours concerns at Monroe Medical Center, please call 318-330-7176.

Once you contact our patient relations advocates, we’ll speak with you about your experience and gather information about your care. This may involve reviewing relevant documents and medical records as needed, as well as interviewing the involved doctors, care team members or management team members. Your patient advocate will follow up with you over the phone or by email.
