Mark Alvarez, MD, practices obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a generalist, he specializes in all aspects of women's health from adolescence through pregnancy and menopause.

Following medical school, he completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at LSU Health Shreveport where he now serves as an assistant clinical professor.

Dr. Alvarez is a native of New Orleans and has lived in Shreveport since 2018. Being a native of Louisiana, he is passionate about improving health outcomes for women in his home state.

His wife is a physician assistant who is also on faculty at LSU Health's School of Health Professions and Sciences. Outside of work, they can both be found spending time with their children.
