Dr. Malek was born and raised in Lebanon. He graduated from the Lebanese University, Faculty of Medical Sciences and awarded “Standard of Excellence” on the 2011 International Foundations of Medicine Clinical Science Examination from the National Board of Medical Examiners. He moved to France in 2016 where he completed an Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine training, thereafter, moved to Houston, Texas where he completed a 2-year of Infectious Disease Fellowship focusing on patients living with HIV, HCV, HBV, patients with cancer and other immunosuppressed hosts, then completed a fellowship in Onco-Transplant Infectious Diseases including Solid Organ Transplant Recipients at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center.
