Dr. Amalraj comes to us from Toronto, Canada where he initially completed his Honors Bachelors in Science from University of Toronto in Human Biology. He later on went to pursue his passion in medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. He has explored medical education in multiple settings, including France, Canada and the United States. He discovered his ongoing passion for internal medicine and decided to pursue residency in Michigan. He joins Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport to combine his continued interest for medical education, research and advocating for access for healthcare. His areas of expertise include internal medicine and nocturnist. His procedures include point of care ultrasound, central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
