Christopher Sockrider, MD

Christopher Sockrider, MD, practices breast surgery at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr, Sockrider has expertise in the evaluation and surgical management of breast disease and breast cancer. He offers comprehensive care in all forms of breast surgery including modern techniques for needle biopsy, lumpectomy, mastectomy and lymph node surgery.

Dr. Sockrider earned his medical degree for Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1997. He completed a six-year surgical residency from Louisiana State University Health Science Center, Shreveport, Louisiana in 2003. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Sockrider has additional training and experience in breast ultrasound, minimally invasive biopsy techniques, and placement of partial breast irradiation devices. He is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Louisiana State Medical Society and Northwest Louisiana Medical Society.

Dr. Sockrider is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of patients while understanding individual concerns and goals, believing strongly that doctor patient relationships are a core principle of his medical and surgical practice. He has been practicing exclusively breast surgery in the community since 2006, bringing his expertise to Ochsner LSU Health in 2026. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a longtime volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and avid pinball enthusiast.
