Guillermo Sangster, MD

Dr. Sangster earned his medical degree at National University of La Plata in November 1994. He completed his Residency in Radiology at Private Community Hospital in Argentina in 1999. Dr. Sangster is a board Certified radiologist by the American Board of Radiology and the Argentine Board of Radiology. Dr. Sangster has lived and practiced in Shreveport for the past 17 years. He and his wife, Andrea, have three children. Dr. Sangster's practice includes diagnostic radiology, leading the Body Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Division since 2014. His professional interest lies in the diagnosis of oncology, intensive care and trauma patients. His teaching interest includes cross sectional imaging modalities to the radiology residents, students and fellows. During his 17 years at LSU Health Shreveport, Dr. Sangster presented with his residents more than 80 educational and scientific papers in national and international radiology meetings, obtaining 14 awards from these presentations. Dr. Sangster has served as Professor of Clinical Radiology and Anesthesiology for the past 17 years. He is very active in resident education with appointments to numerous hospital, medical school and departmental committees including Quality Council, Continuing Medical Education, Radiation Safety, Cancer Committee, Radiology Program Evaluation Committee among others. Dr. Sangster serves as the diagnostic Radiology consultant in the hepatobiliary board, urology tumor board and surgical oncology tumor board. Dr. Sangster has served in national and international organizations such as the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Abdominal Radiology and the Argentine Society of Radiology. He also serves as Professor of the Interamerican College of Radiology since 2008 giving educational lectures to radiologists worldwide. Dr. Sangster has published 7 book chapters, more than 70 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has given more than 125 lectures as invited speaker in regional, national and international radiology meetings. Dr. Sangster has served as editor/reviewer in numerous nationally and internationally recognized specialty journals such as American Journal of Radiology, Abdominal Radiology, and Argentinian Journal of Radiology.
