Originally from Monroe, LA, Dr. Sugar received her BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University and then received her medical education at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She moved to Shreveport where she completed a five-year surgical residency. She then entered medical practice and spent two years in Memphis, TN, where she specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Dr. Sugar is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She specializes in benign and malignant breast disease, including high-risk screening.
