Jestin Williams, MD

Jestin M.L. Williams, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and orthopedic oncologist at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions and bone and soft tissue tumors, providing both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options tailored to each patient’s condition, goals, and lifestyle.

Dr. Williams provides comprehensive care for a wide range of spine conditions, including degenerative spine disease, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, spinal deformity and scoliosis, spinal trauma and spinal tumors. His surgical expertise includes open and minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression and fusion, endoscopic spine surgery and motion-preserving procedures. He works with patients to determine the most appropriate treatment approach based on their symptoms, diagnosis and individual needs.

As an orthopedic oncologist, Dr. Williams also specializes in the evaluation and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors, including sarcomas and metastatic cancer involving the extremities, pelvis and spine. His specialized training allows him to care for patients with complex musculoskeletal tumors and spinal oncology conditions.

Dr. Williams began his academic career at Alcorn State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and played collegiate football. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He subsequently completed fellowship training in orthopedic oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, followed by an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Williams is committed to providing individualized orthopedic and spine care by taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, symptoms, expectations, and treatment goals. He works closely with his patients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique medical needs and help them make informed decisions about their care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, watching Sunday football, collecting trading cards, traveling and honing his skills as a grill master.
