Dr. Kevin Boykin is Clinical Assistant Professor at LSU Health Shreveport. He grew up in Shreveport and attended Louisiana State University Health Shreveport for his undergraduate degree. He was accepted to LSUHS School of Medicine in Shreveport where he completed a general surgery residency. He was awarded a transplantation fellowship at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and remained there to complete a second fellowship in pediatric surgery. Bringing his expertise back to Shreveport, Dr. Boykin was the chief of surgery at LSU Children’s Hospital in Shreveport. After two years, he joined Drs. Mark Brown and Donald Sorrells in private practice. Dr. Boykin is married with five children. He enjoys camping, hiking, and playing Xbox with his kids, target shooting, and restoring pinball and arcade machines. When asked what means the most to him as a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Boykin says, “Being able to invest a small amount of my time to make a lifelong improvement in the life of a child is an enormous blessing.”
