Dr. Gungor completed pediatrics residency training at the University of Chicago before completing her fellowship training at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and (UAMS) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Dr. Gungor is a Professor with OLSU Health Shreveport Department of Pediatrics with a focus on endocrinology. She is actively interested prevention of overweight-related endocrine problems such as prediabetes, growth disorders, puberty disorders, thyroid problems and the full spectrum of pediatric diabetes and endocrine disorders.
Dr. Gungor enjoys clinical duties, education and academic activities. She is a member of Pediatric Endocrine Society (participates in the overweight special interest group and certificate subcommittee), Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society, Turkish Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Society, Endocrine Society. Dr Gungor is a member of the editorial board for Journal of Clinical Research in Pediatric Endocrinology. Dr. Gungor has more than 47 peer-reviewed publications, 49 published abstracts, and 6 printed/online book chapters. Dr. Gungor is actively involved in medical student and resident physician training. Dr. Gungor enjoys keeping a healthy lifestyle with physical activity and balanced nutrition, as well as reading.
