Dr. Arevalo completed both his medical degree (2009) and Diagnostic Radiology residency (2015) at the National University of Colombia in Bogota. He then moved to the U.S. where he completed fellowships in Neuroradiology, Oncological Neuroradiology and Head and Neck Imaging, and Research at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. He moved to Shreveport with his wife, Carolina, and two children and joined our faculty in July 2021.Dr. Arevalo’s areas of specialty are Advanced Brain Tumor Imaging (ABTI), MR Spectroscopy, MR Perfusion Weighted Imaging, Functional MRI, Head and Neck Imaging and Vessel Wall Imaging. His also has a special interest in resident and medical student teaching.His research interests include imaging biomarkers of clinically significant molecular alterations in primary and secondary brain neoplasms. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, written several book chapters, and presented widely at scientific meetings.
