Dr. Cooper completed both his medical school training and his residency training at LSU Health Shreveport. He joined the Department of Pediatrics in 2001 as a faculty member. Since 2006, Dr. Cooper has served as the Pediatric Residency Program Director guiding residents in their medical training, and helping them to learn how to deliver the best patient care and be positive role models in their communities. In 2017 Dr. Cooper was named the Clarence H. Webb, MD Professor in Pediatrics. Dr. Cooper is a Board Certified Pediatrician, and is a member of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and of the Academic Pediatric Association. In his free time, Dr. Cooper enjoys many activities with his family such as golf, swimming, and sailing, and he is an active member of his church community.
