Dr. Pinargote received her medical degree from Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador. She subsequently completed her residency at Brown University Alpert Medical School- Kent Hospital and fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, TX- MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her main interests include antimicrobial resistance, Staphylococcal infections (Cefazolin inoculum effect), HIV, Enterococcal infections, CNS infections, infections in the immunocompromised host, and antibiotic stewardship. She has also worked in translational and laboratory research studies with multiple institutions.In addition to research, Dr. Pinargote is active in education and clinical service. She enjoys teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
