William F. Morano, MD

Dr. Morano graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Spanish language. He attended Drexel University College of Medicine and began his residency in general surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia where he completed two years of dedicated research with a focus on peritoneal surface malignancies. Dr. Morano completed his chief year of residency and a two-year fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Loma Linda University Health, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.Dr. Morano’s clinical and basic science research focuses on peritoneal surface and hepatobiliary malignancies, with presentations at national conferences and numerous peer-reviewed publications. He is a member of several national, surgical associations. His clinical interests cover a wide range of complex malignancies including gastrointestinal, colorectal, hepatobiliary, and peritoneal surface malignancies, as well as soft tissue sarcomas and skin cancers such as melanoma. He is trained in advanced minimally invasive and robotic techniques, as well as in performing cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for peritoneal surface malignancies. Dr. Morano joined the Division of Surgical Oncology at LSU Health Shreveport in August 2022 and resides in Shreveport with his wife and two daughters.
