Zhiyun Yang, MD

Dr. Yang earned her medical degrees at Capital University of Medical Sciences, Beijing China (1982). She completed her residency and earned an equivalent PhD research degree in Diagnostic Radiology at Beijing Medical University, Beijing, China (1990). She has an extensive background in musculoskeletal radiology clinical research, having had the privilege of training under the internationally-renowned musculoskeletal radiologists, Dr. Yunzhao Wang from Beijing Ji Shui Tan Hospital and Dr. Louis A. Gilula from the Mallinkrodt Institute of Radiology. She also received her Pediatric Radiology Fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, NY (2002). She completed her 2nd Residency in Nuclear Medicine at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. USA (2005). Currently, she holds dual certifications from the American Board of Radiology in 2012 and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 2005. Dr. Yang has lived and practiced in Shreveport for the past 13 years. Her professional interest lies in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Yang has served as the Director of Nuclear Medicine, at LSUHSC-S Department of Radiology for the past 13 years. She is Professor of Radiology. She is very active in resident and student education. She has numerous research interests, particularly in SPECT/CT, a novel imagining modality in recent years. She has received research grants, presented in many national and international conferences, and published in many peer-reviewed journals, and a book chapter.
