Part of our commitment to providing the highest-quality care possible at Ochsner LSU Health-Shreveport is ensuring that you and your loved ones can fully understand your care options. We offer communication and interpretation services at no cost to patients who do not speak English or who have limited proficiency in English, as well as patients who are deaf or have hearing impairments.
We offer interpretation services for speakers of the following languages:
Call our main switchboard with any questions or concerns you may have about language interpretation.
We use interpreter services by phone to interpret non-English languages for our patients. Tell your nurse that you or your loved one will need interpretation assistance, or use the following phone numbers to access our interpretation services by phone:
You may provide your own interpreter if you wish. However, we strongly recommend taking advantage of our no-cost interpretation services, rather than providing your own interpreter. Our interpreters are highly trained and experienced in providing medical information to non-English speakers, as well as those who are deaf or have hearing impairments.
Please note: If you do provide your own interpreter, that person must be an adult. No one under 18 will be allowed to serve as an interpreter for a patient.
