Here to Help in Your Time of Need

It’s natural to feel many emotions if you or a loved one is sick, injured or otherwise in need of medical care. Our Pastoral Care Department provides spiritual care for patients, loved ones and our staff members.

Our hospital chaplains are available from 8 a.m. until midnight every day, and our on-call chaplains are available from midnight until 8 a.m. as requested by a member of our nursing administrative staff support team members. If you need a chaplain, we are here for you. Ask your nurse to call a chaplain for you, or call our office at 318-626-4078. In addition, you can call our Prayer Line at 318-626-AMEN (2636), and one of our staff chaplains will pray for your request.

Our Spiritual Care Services

Our hospital chaplains provide a wide range of services to patients and their loved ones, including:

• Contacting your outside clergy member(s) upon request
• Decedent Care; Caring for families at their time of loss
• Spiritual Grief Packets; Respectful Burials
• Mid-week Half Hour of Inspirational Power
• Spiritual Care Assessments
• Rounding in palliative care and critical care units, including the medical intensive care unit (MICU), surgical intensive care unit (SICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), neonatal ICU, neurosurgical ICU and burn unit
• Offering religious literature from various denominations upon request
• Pre-surgery prayers with you and your loved ones
• Responding to trauma calls, fetal demise, infant loss, helping children understand death and other situations in which you or your loved ones may benefit from the support of our chaplain
