The Ochsner LSU Health - Neurology Center is equipped with the technology and resources needed to provide your child with neurological care for the full range of conditions.

Ochsner LSU Health - Neurology Center is the only institution in the community with a fully equipped and staffed long-term video electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring program for both adults and children. Ochsner LSU Health also provides access to the highest level of epilepsy care. Ochsner LSU Health's Epilepsy Center is one of three epilepsy centers in Louisiana to be accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, and it is the only Level 4 epilepsy center in the tristate area. • CT scans to quickly provide internal images of the body to help diagnose conditions.
  • MRIs to get a detailed image of the inside of the body that helps direct treatment.
  • Routine EEGs to measure brain activity, and help diagnose brain disorders.
  • Long-term video and portable EEG studies to help identify epilepsy syndrome and seizure type.
  • Sleep studies to evaluate, analyze and treat sleep disorders.
  • Electromyograms (EMGs) and Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) studies to monitor how a child’s nerves and muscles are working.
  • Single photon emission tomography scans to show brain activity related to blood flow.
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans to view metabolic abnormalities in the brain.
  • Neuropsychological testing to evaluate a child’s thinking, behavior and social-emotional functioning.
  • Testing for genetic and metabolic disorders to help diagnose and treat all types of genetic conditions and metabolic disorders.

Our Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) clinic gathers on the last Wednesday of every month, where we examine patients with neuromuscular disorders.
