Services Provided

Our department is an integrated and comprehensive team of board-certified physicians specially trained to provide children with relief from congenital defects and traumatic injuries of the brain and spinal chord.

In conjunction with radiology services, we offer same-day scheduling of preclinical imaging exams our St. Mary Medical Center, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and sedated pediatric MRIs. Children who undergo procedures encounter many challenges, including unfamiliar environments and separation from parents. We work with Child Life Specialists to reduce anxiety and provide distractors during procedures that require sedation.

We also offer a Specialized Pediatric Concussion Clinic. Our team uses a computerized cognitive assessment aid for pediatric concussions to identify possible impairment and compare to normative data to determine a need for a more comprehensive evaluation and returning to activities.

In a collaborative partnership between our neurosurgeons and neurological colleagues, we have the only accredited Level 4 Epilepsy Center in the region.
