Pulmonary and Critical Care

Expert Care for Lung and Breathing Conditions

If you have lung disease, it can be difficult or impossible for you to breathe without effort. Your condition might affect your independence or quality of life. But you don’t have to face your condition alone.

The pulmonary (lung) and critical care specialists at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport provide hope to our patients. Whether you need inpatient or outpatient care for your lung disease, we are ready to help. Our team offers broad-based clinical care, as well as research into new treatments for lung disorders and breathing issues.

If you or a loved one needs intensive care, you want to know that you’re getting the best care possible. Our intensive care unit (ICU) team exceeds The Leapfrog Group’s staffing standards, ensuring that each adult patient in our ICU is under the care of one of our intensivists. If you or a loved one is a patient at Monroe Medical Center, our teleICU program ensures patients receive the support they need from our pulmonologists and intensive care specialists.

We are also the region’s only Center of Excellence for extracorporeal life support as recognized by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO), which demonstrates our dedication to exceptional patient care.
