Dr. Natalie Trujillo-Aguirre is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. After high school she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served on active duty from 2001-2007. During her military service she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Sciences from American Military University in Charlestown, WV. She then completed a Post Baccalaureate of Pre-Medicine at the University of California, Riverside. She completed her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine in St. Maarten. She then completed her Family Medicine Residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical center in Colton, CA. She is board certified in Family Medicine. During her Army career as an enlisted soldier, she served stateside at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and overseas at the 121st CSH in Seoul, South Korea. She then had a break in service in order to pursue her medical career. During her last year of residency, she commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. During her service in the U.S. Army Reserves, she has had the greatest honor of being part of the Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force that was activated in the initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic at the Javits Federal Medical Station in NYC. Dr. Trujillo-Aguirre specializes in disease prevention and health promotion in acute and chronic diseases in the outpatient and inpatient setting. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish. Her areas of interest include providing care to underserved communities locally and abroad in medical missions. Her last mission was with Samaritan’s Purse to Balfate, Honduras. Where an amazing team at Loma De Luz Hospital is making a great impact in the community. She is married to fellow soldier and friend, Dr. Kenneth Aguirre. Together, they have two children, a son and a daughter, and a rescue pup named Copper. Her personal passions include family, faith, military, community service locally and abroad, travel and sports. Anything that will get her and her family out in nature. Natalie and Kenneth are excited to call Shreveport home.
