Dr. Pinargote received her medical degree from Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador. She subsequently completed her residency at Brown University Alpert Medical School- Kent Hospital and fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, TX- MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her main interests include antimicrobial resistance, Staphylococcal infections (Cefazolin inoculum effect), HIV, Enterococcal infections, CNS infections, infections in the immunocompromised host, ​and antibiotic stewardship. She has also worked in translational and laboratory research studies with multiple institutions.​​In addition to research, Dr. Pinargote is active in education and clinical service. She enjoys teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
