Rinoo V. Shah, MD, MBA is a Clinical Professor and Program Director (ACGME Accredited Pain Fellowship), in the Department of Anesthesiology. He is dually Board Certified in Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He and his wife, Kejal, a dermatologist have 3 children. Dr. Shah has practiced in Shreveport for the past 4 years. Dr. Shah's practice is principally focused on interventional pain management, a sub-discipline that focuses on the use of minimally invasive and surgical techniques for the relief and management of pain. He is also interested in cancer pain and cancer survivor pain. He is very active in resident, fellow, and student education. As a program director, he has been very active in teaching fellows and residents in interventional procedures, patient safety, and the general practice of chronic pain. He has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals, written many book chapters and has edited textbooks that are vital to the knowledge base of many in the specialty. Dr. Shah has historically been involved in teaching private practitioners via cadaver work shops and has given numerous presentations, locally, nationally, and internationally. Through that experience, he understood that he could have a greater impact on patient care, by teaching new trainees. Dr. Shah is committed to providing outstanding care, via the fellowship, to the Shreveport community. He has taken care of a major underserved and financially distressed segment of the Shreveport community that suffers from cancer associated pain.
