Nursing Instructor Registration & Resources

As Ochsner LSU Health continues to work toward streamlining student and instructor onboarding, we ask that all instructors register at the beginning of each semester (or before the semester start) via registration form. This is a single entry point for ALL instructors, new and returning. Completing the registration form adds instructors to the queue for Epic access for the semester.

• Please register online at or before the start of each academic semester (January – May or August – December).
• Registering well in advance of any scheduled rotations will help us to ensure that Epic access is efficient and timely.

Nursing Instructor Orientation

New instructors will be asked to attend a New Instructor Orientation. Information about upcoming New Instructor Orientation will be sent after a new instructor registers using the above link.

  Access the Instructors Orientation Checklist for Student Clinical Groups. Nursing instructors will be expected to download, complete, and return this form to the appropriate Campus Contact for the facility to which they are bringing students.

Nursing Instructor Epic Access

• Registering as a Nursing Instructor each semester is the first and most crucial step in gaining/reactivating instructor Epic access.
• The steps to obtain Epic access can be found on the Accessing Epic page.
• To access Epic while away from an Ochsner Health facility, please follow the instructions on How to Access Epic Remotely

Nursing Instructor Compliance

In order to complete clinical rotations at Ochsner Health, each instructor must maintain compliance with the attestation items listed in the Attestation Explanation [hyperlink the attached PDF]. School faculty/administration are required to attest to these compliance items via InPlace before they are permitted to participate in clinical rotations- instructions for entering this compliance can be found in the OH InPlace Academic User Guide.
